Board of Election Commissioners Members serve four-year terms and oversee elections.
Building Authority This authority's members oversee construction of township facilities through the sale of bonds.

Building Board of Appeals This Board hears appeals of local building codes.
Block Grant Advisory Council This council makes recommendations on how to use Block Grant funds.
Canton Historical Society The Canton Historical Society was formally established in 1977 and began its first major project, the acquisition and renovation of Canton Center School as a Museum.
Commission for Culture, Arts and Heritage The Commission for Culture, Arts and Heritage serves as advocates in promoting public awareness of culture, arts and heritage in the community. The commission meets the third Monday of every other month beginning in February at 7:00 p.m. at the Administration Building lower level. Herb Scott, Chairperson; Ray VanHoeck, Secretary. The Downtown Development Authority The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) oversees the development of the designated downtown. The DDA Board meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 8:00 a.m.
Election Board of Canvassers This board certifies election results. Members serve four years.
Environmental Stewardship Committee This committee, composed of staff members from Municipal Services, Leisure Services, and the Parks Departments, was created to educate the community on Canton Township current practices as well as elevate Canton residents level of environmental awareness.
Historic District Commission This commission meets the first Wednesday each month and administers the township's historic ordinance. Volunteers serve three-year terms. Chairperson: Terry Bennett.
Homeowner's Advisory Council The Homeowner's Advisory Council is an organization of homeowners and homeowner associations who come together to discuss resident and neighborhood issues.

The Council will meet October 8 and December 10, 2007; February 11 and April 14, 2008 for presentations and discussion on Homeowners Association related topics.

Merit Commission This commission administers the Merit Ordinance for township employees not in a bargaining unit. Chairperson: Tony Calderoni .
Planning Commission This appointed commission serves three-year terms. It reviews development proposed projects and makes recommendations to the Board.

The commission meets first and third Mondays of each month at 7 p.m. Chairperson: Victor Gustafson.
Leisure Services Advisory Committee This committee's volunteers work on recreation issues, such as the community center.
Senior Advisory Council This council is made up of representatives from the seniors groups.
Tax Board of Review This board reviews assessments appeals.
Zoning Board of Appeals This appointed board hears zoning variance requests. The ZBA meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
