Canton’s ninth annual Home Improvement Expo was a huge success with over 120 vendors and 5,000 attendees. The Expo was held last weekend at Canton's Summit on the Park and was sponsored by Canton's Building and Inspection Services Division, the Canton Chamber of Commerce, and The Observer and Eccentric Newspapers.
Highlights of the Expo included: live broadcasts from special guest stars Murray Gula, Host of "Your Home with Murray Gula" on 1130 WDFN and Joe Gagnon "The Appliance Doctor" on 1600 WAAM; how-to workshops on a variety topics from landscaping to installing brick pavers; a free roof give-a-way sponsored by Rapid Roofing; live woodcarving demonstrations; a bench give-a-way sponsored by Canton Construction and the Michigan Carpenter’s Union; and a live broadcast of 104.3 WOMC’s Sunday Brunch with Chris Edmonds and Stacey DuFord.
Awards were also given to: The Rock Shoppe, Marygrove Awnings and Rapid Roofing for their outstanding exhibits. Home Depot also donated several woodworking projects for a special hands-on children’s craft center where children of all ages constructed over 250 projects.
