I-275/Ford Road/Haggerty Road Interchange Improvements
TIGER III GRANT
On behalf of the Michigan Department of Transportation (M-DOT), Canton recently applied for a Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER III) grant. If accepted, $22 million in funds would be used to reconfigure the I-275, Ford Road and Haggerty Road Interchange. Video simulations of the proposed project are available below. In 2006 the Canton Municipal Services Department participated on the Western Wayne Transportation Task Force. The task force serves as a forum for local communities and agencies to communicate goals and needs of transportation in Western Wayne County.
The task force commissioned a long-range transportation study to help maximize the efficiency of area roadways, promote a safe roadway system, develop transportation that minimizes negative impacts to the environment, plan roadway improvements, and develop transportation based on realistic financial resources. The following videos show the impact recommended improvements would make.
