John Latini and The Flying Latini Brothers To Perform at Canton’s Village Theater This Saturday!

This high-energy concert, presented by Smokin’ Sleddog Records, features regional favorite John Latini, whose clever songwriting, musical versatility and charming personality have won him numerous music awards and nominations. With The Flying Latini Brothers, he performs a powerful and captivating show that demonstrates a wide variety of music including blues, rock, folk and jazz standards.

The Flying Latini Brothers consist of Latini's real life brother Jim Latini on drums, John Sperendi on bass and Neil Donato playing keys. Most recently John was named Detroit Blues Challenge Winner in the solo/duo division for the second year in a row (2008 and 2009). He will travel to Memphis Tennessee to represent The Detroit Blues Society and to compete in The International Blues Challenge on January 23, 2010.

Latini has also been the recipient of several songwriting awards in Michigan, Texas and North Carolina. Shortly after returning from a tour to Colorado at the end of October, he was named one of seven finalists in the "A Winter's Tune" contest. In addition, Latini has been nominated for over 10 categories in the Detroit Music Awards. This past summer, Latini was presented with Letters Of Recognition And Appreciation, and Proclamation from Governor Jennifer Granholm and Mayor Paul Schreiber of Ypsilanti honoring him for his service of providing music at Senior Citizen Centers throughout Michigan.
