Registration
Registration for session based swim lessons is available online and at the Summit on the Park front desk. Please take a moment to look through the Aquatics section of the Discover Brochure and select the class day/time that works best for your schedule.

Summit Swim School Lesson Options
Parent/Child Lessons: classes for children 6 months - 5 years that include both the parent and the child actively participating in the class together.
Session Based Group Lessons: group lessons that last 6-10 classes per session. Participants are broken up in to similar skill levels.
- Preschool: ages 3 - 5 years
- Youth: ages 5 - 12 years
- Competitive Prep Swim Team 8-17 years
- Teen/Adult: ages 12+ years
Private Lessons: participants receive one-on-one instruction for 5-10 classes per session.
Special Promotions: Present or Mention your Summit Swim School/Lesson receipt to our Birthday Party Coordinator to receive a 10% discount when you book and prepay for any Birthday Party Package.
10% discount is only available for Birthday Party services paid in advance and not valid on services paid for the day of the party. To qualify for discount, Birthday Party recipient must be enrolled and participate in swim lessons from during offer timeline. Offer not valid with any other discounts or promotions. Parent Child: Group Swim Lessons
Level 1:
Ages 6 month - 1.5 yearsThe purpose of this course is to develop a beginning comfort level in and around the water. This course does not teach children to be accomplished swimmers or to survive alone in the water. One parent or guardian will assist the child and the instructor in developing water adjustment while teaching them the very basic water skills.
Level 2:
Ages 1.5 Years - 3 yearsThe purpose of this course is to develop toddlers to have a high comfort level in and around the water. This course does not teach children to be accomplished swimmers or to survive alone in the water. One parent or guardian will assist the child and the instructor in developing water adjustment, basic water skills and getting their child ready to participate in Parent Child level 3 class.
Level 3:
Ages 3+ yearsThis class is an ideal bridge between our Parent Child level 2 class and our preschool aquatic program. This class is highly recommended for preschoolers, before taking a class without their parent for the first time. Instructors will work with each parent and child team to instill basic water safety, teach the basic swim skills and prepare each child for their first class on their own (without a parent).

Preschool: Group Swim Lessons
Ages: 3 years - 5 years
All participants are tested and placed in to classes based on the their skill level. Instructors will utilize a variety of teaching techniques to ensure progression through the program. Participants will receive weekly activity sheets to reinforce the lessons taught during class.
Level 1
This is the beginning level for preschoolers without their parents. Swimmers will work on submerging their eyes and/or blow bubbles for 3 seconds along with some swimming, kicking and safety skills.
Level 2
Prerequisite:
- Must be able to submerge their eyes underwater and blow bubbles for 3 seconds.
Level 3
Prerequisite:
- Must be able to float on their front with face in the water for 3 seconds and back float for 5 seconds with assistance.

Youth: Group Swim Lessons
Ages: 5 years - 12 years

Level 1
This is the beginning level for youth swimmers. Swimmers will work on bubble blowing, bobbing, floating, along with some swimming, kicking and safety skills.
Level 2
Prerequisite:
- Must be able to bob 5 times and put their face in the water when gliding on their front for seconds with assistance.
Level 3
Prerequisite:
- Must be able to tread or float for 15 seconds.
- Float on back for 15 seconds roll to front and recover and swim 5 body lengths.
Level 4
Prerequisite:
- Perform the front crawl for 15 yards
- Elementary back for 15 yards
- Perform the deep water competency test.
Level 5
Prerequisite:
- Swim front crawl for 25 yards under 40 seconds
- Elementary backstroke for 25 yards
- Breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and sidestroke for 15 yards

Teen and Adult: Group Swim Lessons
Ages: 12+ Years
This class is designed for teens and adults who are at a beginning swim level or are trying to learn to swim a length of the pool. Teens and adults can let the instructor know what their goals are and the instructor will plan their lesson accordingly.
Teen/Adult Beginner Classes
This class is designed for Teens and Adults who are at a beginning swim level up through those trying to learn to swim a length of the pool. Teens and Adults can let the instructor know what their goals are and the instructor will plan their lesson accordingly.
Intermediate Adult Classes
This class is geared for individuals that can swim a length of the pool and are working on improving their swim ability for a long distance swim or competitive race. A trained instructor will serve as your coach throughout the session and give you insight to making advances toward your goals.

Private Swim Instruction
Ages: 5+ years
The Summit Swimming program offers private swim lessons for individuals looking for one on one instruction. Private lessons are 30 minutes in length and are taught by a certified Water Safety Instructor. The lesson is designed around the specific needs and goals of the participants.

Competitive Prep Swim Team
Prerequisite:
- Must have passed Youth Level 4
- Must have passed a swim test which includes swimming 2 lengths of free style, 2 lengths of breast stroke, 2 lengths of back stroke, and 1 length of butterfly in a designated time frame. To schedule please contact an Aquatic Coordinator at 734-394-5371.
Are you looking to get your child in to swim team shape? Join our Summit Swim Team and learn what it takes to be part of a team. This is for swimmers that are in levels 5 & 6. Participants will work on their stroke technique, endurance, learn how to properly warm up, stretch, and cool down muscles and use various training equipment.
