Lower Rouge Trail Crossing At Lilley Road Anticipated To Close Memorial Day Through End of Year

The Lower Rouge Trail Crossing at Lilley Road is expected to close to all pedestrian traffic from Memorial Day through the end of the year, as a result of the reconstruction of the Lilley Road Bridge in Canton, MI.

The trail will be closed to all pedestrian traffic at this location. Barriers will be installed at the trail crossing for the safety of pedestrians. All trail users are asked to avoid this area for the duration of this construction project and should consider utilizing different sections of the trail.

The Lower Rouge Trail, along with the ITC Corridor Trail, currently interconnects Canton’s Heritage Park with the Michigan Department of Transportation’s I-275 Metro Trail (a regional trail system offering approximately six miles of non-motorized pathways in Canton). The trailhead for the Lower Rouge Trail is located off of Morton-Taylor Road, north of Michigan Avenue. Combined, all of these trails in Canton offer over 15 miles of non-motorized pathways that are open year-round.
