Event Dates:
Set Up: Wednesday, December 13, 2023
Event Support: Thursday, December 14, 2023
Shifts:
Wednesday: 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Thursday: 8 a.m. – 11 a.m., 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: Summit on the Park Banquet Center
Brief Description of Event: Club 55+ will be hosting a holiday party!
Type of tasks volunteers will be asked to do:
Wednesday: Set up the event by arranging place settings and tablecloths, decorating, ironing tablecloths, covering chairs and folding napkins into trees.
Thursday: 8-11 shift will help put the final touches on the room and do any additional set up that is required to include making coffee. 11-3 shift will assist with event support throughout the day by serving food and coffee and keeping everything organized. 3-5 shift will help clean up the event area, wash glasses and pack up decorations.
Attire/Special Instructions:
Wednesday: Casual, appropriate attire and comfortable shoes.
Thursday: Black pants and white shirt with hair pulled back.

Brief Description of Event: All Canton volunteers are requested to attend at least one volunteer training per year. Staff will discuss Canton Leisure Services policies and procedures, event information, customer service expectations, and emergency information.
Volunteers should attend, if they have not come to a prior training session and would like to volunteers for the following events:

Volunteer Training
Canton Township volunteers are required to attend training a minimum of one time per year. The training provides volunteers with information about upcoming events, customer service, and emergency preparedness. All registered volunteers will be emailed of upcoming volunteer training dates.
Meals on Wheels and Pheasant Run Golf Club Volunteers
For positions requiring driving, volunteers' driving records will be verified as part of their Volunteer Application. For additional information, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator via email or call 734/394-5191.
Scholarship Opportunities
When financial circumstances create a barrier for participation, Canton residents may be eligible to apply for a Canton Leisure Services Scholarship, which can be applied towards Leisure Services classes and programs. Recipients may receive up to $500 per individual in a calendar year.
Please note that children currently in foster care and residing in Canton are also eligible for up to $500 in financial support in a calendar year. Formal documentation will need to be provided.
