The Village Theater at Cherry Hill is pleased to exhibit the works of award-winning photographer Sylvia Ford, from May 31 through June 26, 2019. A special artist’s reception and meet & greet, that is free and open to the public, will be held on Tuesday, June 4, from 7-9 p.m. at the Gallery@VT within The Village Theater.
The exhibit, titled "My Tilted Tripod", is an immersive, inventive, artful look into the world we live in, captured through the photography lens of Sylvia Ford. Over 40 multi-level, digitally designed images will be featured in this exhibit where reality is shown, and the surreal is highlighted. This talented photographer presents images of altered and unaltered landscapes, intricate architecture, the feats of man, and the strength of nature.
Artist Sylvia Ford is based in her home state of Michigan and holds several certifications in photography. Her work has been featured both locally and internationally, gaining praise for her imagery and technique; however, Ford’s rewards are most felt while in the field with her camera, or in the digital darkroom.
"It’s a creative process from start to finish," Ford reports. "It starts with the scene, the reality put in front of me, and the goal from there is to express my vision. I create from my photography, and in turn, the conceptual becomes real."
For this artist, the process doesn't end there, every image Ford produces is individually printed and framed in her studio workshop, and each finished product only means the start of a new one.
This latest art exhibit at the Gallery@VT is free and open to the public: Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., one hour prior to and during public performances at the theater, as well as by appointment. The Gallery@VT is closed on holidays. The gallery is located at 50400 Cherry Hill Rd., Canton, MI, 48187.
