Continuing a more than 20-year tradition in the Canton community, the Thursday Night Live Concert Series is back this summer with some exciting additions!
Area residents are invited to experience another summer of free music at the Heritage Park Amphitheater, featuring a weekly dose of fresh air and family-friendly fun! This year’s Thursday Night Live Concert Series, sponsored by Canton Community Financial, will kick off Thursday, June 27, 2019, featuring ‘Serious Jack’ performing Pop, Rock, and Country favorites.
The 2019 concert series has been revamped to include: a variety of weekly food trucks; a Beer and Wine Garden sponsored by Maraschino's Pub, with 100% of sales going to Second Chance At Life – a local non-profit group that helps Michigan families with medical transplant costs; and family lawn games. In addition, special Paint and Pours will be held on July 18, and August 15, where a talented instructor will walk participants step by step through the painting process to create a unique take-home work of art for just $20 – cash only, please.
“This year we’ve taken this staple of summertime and amped it up to make it a more all-inclusive event with additional food options, as well as beer and wine for those 21 and over,” said Recreation Specialist Laura Mortier. “We’re thrilled that all of the changes we’ve made to this summer tradition will provide another free, weekly opportunity to bring the Canton community together.”
Future concerts will be held every Thursday through August 15, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Heritage Park Amphitheater, located behind the Canton Administration Building at 1150 S. Canton Center Road, Canton, MI 48188. Musicians are scheduled to perform on stage from 7:00-8:30 p.m. No concert will be held on July 4. Audience members are encouraged to bring blankets or folding chairs for optimal enjoyment on the amphitheater lawn. All featured music is family friendly, ranging from Rock to R&B.
