Canton man charged for attack on family member

March 10, 2015, Canton, MI – Michael Wayne McCauley, 48, was arraigned in 35th District Court yesterday on three charges including Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm less than Murder, a 10-year felony; Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault), a 4-year felony; and Domestic Violence, a 93-day misdemeanor.

McCauley was arrested by Canton police officers on March 7 following a 9-1-1 call for a female that had been stabbed. The victim was transported to a local hospital by paramedics.

Judge James A. Plakas set McCauley’s bond at $50,000, with a preliminary exam date of March 27, 2015.
