Bartlett's Kids Club
Area families are invited to join us on the 3rd Saturday of each month for "Family Fun Days" that focus on family time with fun themed engaging activities.

July 15, 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. - Summer Luau!
There is no better time than summer to have a luau! This month that's exactly what we are going to do! Grab your grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts and join us at the Canton Splash Pad located outside the Summit on the Park for some tropical fun in the sun. Kids will enjoy games, a snack and a craft all while cooling off in the splash playground.

Pre-registration is required. Summit Members are FREE!

Yoga in the Park Returns to Benefit
Wounded Warrior Project

Summit members are encouraged to join us for an inspirational outdoor yoga session on Saturday, July 22 at 9:00 a.m. in Heritage Park, which will once again be led by Dan Nevins, a nationally recognized Wounded Warrior featured on CBS News and the Today Show. All proceeds from this event, sponsored by Old Glory Flags and Flagpoles of Canton and Canton Leisure Services, will go to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Dan Nevins credits the practice of yoga for turning his life around after losing his both legs in Iraq. Join him for this special yoga session in Heritage Park.  Register today at these newly reduced rates! Tickets are now $25 online and will be $35 the day of the event. In the event of inclement weather, the session will be moved inside the Summit.  Participants will receive a tax statement at the end of 2017 stating the portion of their donation that is tax deductible. Canton Leisure Services to Collect Care Package Donations For U.S. Troops
Canton Leisure Services is partnering with Operation Care Package Michigan from now through July 31, in an effort to collect items and donations that will go directly toward care packages for deployed Military Troops and Wounded Soldiers recovering from injuries away from home. Items, such as toiletries, non-perishable foods and donations will be collected in the Summit on the Park’s lobby as well as Thursday Night Concerts, and Tuesdays Are Terrific Concerts in Heritage Park.

Outdoor Fitness Classes
Join us at the Heritage Park Amphitheater for a wide variety of Fitness Classes, including: Yoga, Boot Camp, Barre, and more! Please bring a water bottle, mat, and towel with you to class! Schedules are available at the Summit Front Desk.

Cardboard Boat Race
Saturday, August 5
Attention Families and Businesses! Build your boat out of just cardboard and duct tape and let the best boat win!

9:30 a.m. Boat Dock opens in Aquatic hallway 
9:45 a.m. Voting will begin for Most Creative Boat
10:00 a.m. Boat Races commence

Requirements
Boats must only be constructed out of cardboard materials and duct tape; circular cardboard tubes are allowed.
Boats must be no larger than 5.5ft wide and 10ft long.
Entry Fee
$10 for Member
$15 for Resident
$20 for Non-Resident

Canton Club 55+ Senior Games & Golf Tournament
August 22-25
Attention all adults 55+!  Join us as we kick off this event with our annual Golf Tournament at Pheasant Run, followed by a number of indoor, field, and court events. 
Events Include:
Euchre, Basketball Shot, Golf, Hand & Foot, Bean Bag Toss, Pickleball (doubles), Mahjong, Bocce Ball Toss,  Tennis (doubles), Pinochle, Football Throw, Billiards, Trivia, Softball Throw, Wii Bowling, Ring Toss

The games will conclude with an awards ceremony for the participants. This event is open to residents and nonresidents age 55+. Registration is now available and will go until August 11th. Events will take place throughout Canton at: Pheasant Run, Summit on the Park, Freedom Park & Griffin Park. View a list of events and registration information.


Annual Maintenance Shutdown Information
Beginning Monday, September 4, at noon, the Summit on the Park will close for its Annual Maintenance Shutdown and will re-open, with the exception of the Women's Aquatic Locker Room Showers, on Saturday, September 9, at 6:00 a.m. The Aquatic Center Women's Locker Rooms are expected to remain closed for renovations for a total of 7 weeks and are anticipated to re-open on Monday, October 23, at 6:00 a.m.
 
In addition, the Summit Fitness Center will be closed starting August 31, for a special renovation project that will include installation of new fitness equipment.  Watch for additional renovation details in next month's eNewsletter.
