Summit on the Park News and Membership Special 

The Summit on the Park is currently closed for its Annual Maintenance Shutdown and will re-open on Saturday, September 9 at 6 a.m. 

Summit members and guests are reminded that the Summit on the Park’s Fitness Center is currently undergoing renovation and will re-open on September 9 at 6 a.m.  Visit our website for detailed information about this $140,000 renovation project.  Recognizing these scheduling inconveniences, current memberships will be extended five days.
 
Not already member of the Summit?  Come experience all that the Summit has to offer as we unveil our newly renovated Fitness Center September 9-15, with a week-long Member Appreciation Week that will feature special activities and offerings.

Fit Family Challenge

Once again, Canton Leisure Services invites families to start the new School Year off on the right foot by taking the Fit Family Challenge! Commit to stay fit together and sign up today for this FREE program.  Awesome activities and opportunities to win cool prizes and incentives await participating families. Join us at our Kick-Off event on Friday, September 22 from 6-8 pm at the Summit on the Park.  Come prepared to take the "Pre-Test." Then, join us each month for special Fit Family Challenge activities.  Program "graduates" can show off their new endurance and stamina next June during the 2018 Liberty Run!  Activities welcome all abilities, ages, and fitness levels!  For more information about this free family program, call 734/394-5460.

B.L.O.C.K. Youth and Teen Center

Canton’s popular After-School and Summer program is available to all teens ages 11-17 and features daily programming, tutoring, outreach, and recreation opportunities. This unique teen center encourages teens to gain hands-on experience with activities such as teen TV, cooking, music, art, youth and teen council, and much more. The most impressive part of the program is witnessing the growth and confidence in each of its participants. For a tour and more information about what The B.L.O.C.K. Canton Leisure Services is once again hosting a special fundraiser that will benefit the Canton Historical Society. Event sponsors include:  Holiday Market; Liberty Street Brewing Company; Canton Brew Works; Alaphagraphics; Edward Jones Investments, Kennedy Nemier Insurance Agency Inc., and BeerFests.com to host its annual Brew, Brats, & Bands at the Barn fundraiser on Saturday, September 9 from 6 - 9 p.m. at Preservation Park, 500 N. Ridge Road.
 
Each 21 and over attendee can choose from a wide variety of specialty beers. Participants will also receive a commemorative mug while supplies last. Entertainment will be provided by “Standing Room Only” and “All Directions.”  Tickets are $25 if purchased by September 8 or $30 at the door. A Designated Driver ticket is $10. Michigan Trail Week

To celebrate Michigan’s vast and varied network of trails, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, mParks, and the Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance have designated September 24-30 Michigan Trail Week.  With its Trailhead located on Morton Taylor Road at Michigan Avenue, the Lower Rouge Trail is the perfect trail system to explore during this special week for hiking, biking and other outdoor activities. So, grab your friends and family, head to these Canton trails, and let the adventure begin. Be sure to stop by the Canton Farmers Market and show your support for our local farmers and vendors!  Located at 500 N. Ridge Rd., the Farmers Market takes place every Sunday from 9 am – 1 pm, rain or shine, until October 15.  This family-friendly market offers a wide variety of produce, foods, handmade items, and more.

The Village Theater's New Season

The Village Theater at Cherry Hill 2017-2018 season features a variety of talented performers, including several Grammy Award-Winning artists, all offering a wide range of unforgettable cultural experiences. Fellows Creek Golf Club Update

Did you know that Fellows Creek Golf Club can host your birthday party, wedding/baby shower, retirement or work holiday party or even your wedding reception? Youth Lacrosse Player

Spring Boys Lacrosse

Registration for Boys Spring Lacrosse is now open for all returning players and new Canton residents.  New non-resident players may register starting October 1.  Team spots are limited. This season will run March 1 to June 7 and will consist of league games and two tournaments.  Players must supply their own equipment.  Uniform is included in fees, which are $300 for Canton Residents and $360 for non-residents.
