Village Theater Must-See Shows

Frank Ferrante recreates his PBS, New York and London-acclaimed portrayal of legendary comedian Groucho Marx at The Village Theater on Saturday, February 3 at 2 p.m.  The two-act comedy consists of the best Groucho one-liners, anecdotes and songs.  Plus, the audience literally becomes part of the show as Ferrante ad-libs his way throughout the performance in grand Groucho style as he reacquaints us with the likes of brothers Harpo, Chico, Zeppo and Gummo, Charlie Chaplin, W.C. Off Season Farmers Markets Return to the Summit on the Park This Month

The first of three monthly Winter Markets will be held on Sunday, February 25 in the Summit on the Park's Banquet Lobby, located at 46000 Summit Parkway. Markets are also scheduled for March 25 and April 22 at the Summit; all with special winter market hours from 10 am - 2 pm. Over a dozen local vendors will be featured at the Market.

Canton Pavilion Online Rentals

It's not too early to think ahead to spring and summer!  Starting February 5, 2018, at 9 a.m., Canton Leisure Services will begin accepting online reservations from Canton residents for its open-air pavilions at www.cantonfun.org.  Only online bookings from Canton residents will be accepted at this time.  Starting March 1 at 9 a.m., Canton residents may submit phone reservations by calling 734/394-5310, however online reservations are still encouraged.   Online or phone reservations for non-residents will be accepted starting March 27.  Payment is due at time of reservation. Village Theater Call For Artists

The Gallery@VT would once again like to invite area artists to apply for a group or solo art exhibition for the 2019 season. The Village Theater is interested in featuring a diverse group of artists of all mediums. Submission will be juried by an exhibition committee comprised of local artists, arts professionals, and art educators. Please be advised that you are ineligible if you have had a Solo Exhibition at the Gallery@VT within the last 5 years. Submissions are due by April 12, 2018. Find submission information here. Mom to Mom Sale Coming This Spring

If your closets are bursting at the seams or you could use some extra cash, our Mom to Mom Sale is just the opportunity you are looking for. Canton Leisure Services has booths available to rent during our Mom to Mom Sale that is scheduled to be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Summit on the Park, located at 46000 Summit Parkway. Booths are currently available for rent.  Register for a booth at the Summit on the Park front desk. Vendor spots are sold out. For additional rental information, please email julie.allen@canton-mi.org.  For those of you just interested in shopping and picking up some good bargains, mark those calendars.  This sale will be held from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., with doors opening at 8 a.m. for early bird sales. Summit on the Park Indoor Triathlon

Summit Indoor Triathlon Returns

Registration is currently underway for the Third annual 'Conquer the Summit' Indoor Triathlon that is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 18 starting at 7 a.m.  Participants will complete a 10-minute heat in swimming, 30-minute heat in biking, and a 20-minute heat in running with 10-minute transition times between each event. Swimming will take place in the 25-yard lap pool.  Biking will be held on upright stationary bikes. Running will be done on treadmills. Participants must provide their own swimsuit, swim caps, goggles, biking and running clothing. Registration fees are: $38 for Summit Members; $43 for Canton residents; and $48 for non-residents. Youth Baseball and Softball Leagues

Greater Canton Youth Baseball and Softball Association (GCYBSA) will accept registration for its Spring 2018 now through March 15 for girls and boys ages 4-18. Free Tax Counseling Available

Appointments for Tax Counseling Services for low to moderate income adults, with special focus on seniors are currently being accept at Canton Club 55+.  This tax program will run every Monday and Tuesday now through April 9 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Summit on the Park, for those who qualify.   This AARP sponsored program has morning and early afternoon appointments available with a volunteer tax counselor. Be sure to mention if you will be applying for a waiver of penalty for payment of property taxes at the time you make your appointment.  In addition, joint return appointments must be scheduled for mornings only. Neither Canton Township, the individual tax counselors, nor AARP assume liability for tax preparation.  Call Canton Club 55+ at 734/394-5485 to schedule an appointment today!

Pheasant Run Golf Club

Golf Leagues Now Forming

Pheasant Run’s golf leagues are now registering players for the 2018 season. League play starts in May and runs 15 weeks. Registration is currently underway. Each week two teams of two players will play 9 holes and rotate times to play in different groups.  Sign up today by calling 734/397-6460.

Fellows Creek Golf Club Update

Fellows Creek Golf Club and Banquet Center is hiring for banquet staff, bar staff, pro shop staff, and grounds maintenance. Applications can be picked up at the facility any day from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., or call 734/728.1300 x.5 to reach the General Manager, Jeff LeBlanc. The true golf season is just around the corner, and events are happening year-round.  Fellows Creek Golf Club will also host its annual St. Patty’s Golf Scramble on Saturday, March 17, at 10 a.m. This golf outing will be an 18-hole scramble for teams of four. The entry fee of $45 (discount available for Canton residents) includes golf, two drink tickets, lunch during the round, snacks after, and prizes for closest-to-pin and winning team.
