Camp & Class Registration Day

Are you looking for unique ways for your kids to remain active, engaged and have fun this summer - all without their electronic games and devices? Then Canton's Camp & Class Registration Day Event at the Summit on the Park is the perfect place to come and see what Canton Leisure Services has to offer. Several representatives from our traditional summer camps, weekly camps, and summer programs will be available to answer all of your questions. Canton Farmers Market

Canton Winter Famers Market - March 25

Our next Winter Farmers Market will be held on Sunday, March 25 in the Summit on the Park's Banquet Center lobby, located at 46000 Summit Parkway.  Market hours will take place from 10am - 2pm. A variety of local vendors will be onsite offering a wide assortment of Michigan-grown and made products, including: honey, produce, baked goods, jams, spices, granola, and hand-crafted items. Be sure to mark your calendars, because the last Winter Market of the season will be held at the Summit on the Park on Sunday, April 22.

Summit Indoor Triathlon Returns

March 18 for Ages 14+
Looking for a reason to keep up your training indoors?  Why challenge yourself and compete in our 3rd Annual Conquer the Summit Indoor Triathlon!  Participants will complete a 10-minute swim, 30-minute bike, and a 20-minute run with 10-minute transition times between each event. Television Legend Ed Asner (Mary Tyler Moore Show and Disney’s Up) takes one on a comedic journey of pain, laughter, and anatomy-not necessarily in that order. It is a true story of Ed Weinberger’s Italian vacation that takes an unexpected turn. A turn that scares the life out of him and at the same time forces self-reflection and appreciation for what he has. This show not only tickles the funny bone, but creates awareness and pays tribute to those lost. A must-see for everyone coming to the Village Theater on March 10 at 7:30 p.m. VIP meet and greet tickets are also on sale now

The Chinese Festival Subcommittee of the Multicultural Committee is proud to present a Chinese Spring Festival on Saturday, March 17.  Enjoy a special evening of Folk, Modern, & Classical dances performed by Metro Detroit area dance schools, numerous vocal performances featuring solos, duets, and choirs, plus instrumental performances featuring ancient Chinese instruments: Pipa, Erhu, and Guzheng. Join us at when the doors open at 6 PM to enjoy cultural displays by local Chinese schools: PCCLC, MNCCS, and  Ann Hua School of Ann Arbor.  Mainstage performance will be begin at 7 p.m. 

The Second City Tour Company makes a popular return to continue its sold out record at The Village Theater on March 31. Edgy, thought-provoking and always spectacularly funny. The Second City is celebrating nearly six decades of producing cutting-edge revues and launching the careers of generation after generation of comedy’s best and brightest.

Village Theater Call for Artists

The Village Theater at Cherry Hill is now accepting proposals for our 2019 Galley@VT exhibition season. The deadline for submissions is April 12, 2018.  All artistic mediums will be considered. The Village Theater's exhibition committee, which is comprised of local artists and art educators, will make the final decisions regarding the 2019 exhibition season. The Village Theater at Cherry Hill is a premier performing arts center in Southeast Michigan. On average, 5,000 individuals visit the theater each month. Easter

Easter Egg-citement!

Join us for a special fun-filled Easter event on Saturday, March 24, at Heritage Park and the Summit on the Park, when Canton's annual Easter Eggstravaganza will be held from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm.  On-site registration will be available for $4 per child for Canton Residents and $5 per child for Non-Residents.  Continuous egg hunts will be held for children up to 11 years of age in an effort to help keep the “hunting” fair for even our littlest participants. Youth Baseball and Softball Leagues

Greater Canton Youth Baseball and Softball Association (GCYBSA) is currently accepting registration for its Spring 2017 season now through March 15, 2018, for girls and boys ages 4-18. Programs include: Small Ball, T-Ball, Coach Pitch, Kid Pitch, and Girls Softball. Mom to Mom Sale

Looking for a few good deals on gently-used children's clothing, furniture, and toys?  Look no further!  The Summit on the Park will once again be hosting its annual Mom to Mom Sale in the gymnasium on Saturday, April 21.  Check out all the "new-to-you" items available! Dog Park

Dog Park Update

Spring is closing in and with the melting snow comes muddy conditions.  Keep an extra towel on hand to help with wiping down your four-legged family member and be sure to use extra precaution when maneuvering through muddy pathways.  In addition, please be sure to renew your Dog Park Membership by April 1 to avoid key fob interruption.  If you haven’t done so already, check out our Dog Park Facebook page at www.facebook.com/cantonmidogpark.

 
Golf Update

Dust off your clubs because golf season is right around the corner!  Come visit Pheasant Run Golf Club at the Michigan Golf Show in Novi from Friday, March 9 – Sunday, March 11. Stop by our booth #532/631 for great deals on clothing and apparel, as well as show specials on golf. There will also be hourly drawings for free golf and more, so don’t miss it. Not long after that, Pheasant Run will open for the season once the weather starts to cooperate. So get ready for some spring golf at discounted rates.
