Canton Library for our first ever BLOCK Tech Night. Teens from the BLOCK are ready to help you one-on-one with your technology questions. You can learn to:

• How to use your smart phone and more!

DIA Trip
Thursday, August 2, 12:00-4:00 p.m.
Join us as we take a guided tour of the highlights of the DIA’s permanent collection. Tour followed by a complementary coffee and cookie reception. Includes transportation to and from the Summit. Please register by July 18.

Dossin Great Lakes Museum Trip
Wednesday, August 15, 8:45 a.m. - 1:45 p.m.
We are loading up the vans and heading down to Belle Isle to visit the Dossin Great Lakes Museum. This is the perfect setting to learn about the geographic, economic, social and cultural developments of the Detroit River and the Great Lakes waterways. Learn how the Great Lakes provide transportation routes for shipping goods and people, and the roles the Great Lakes played in the War of 1812 and World War II. Coffee, tea, and pastries will be provided during the presentation. Limited spaces available; register by August 1.

Canton Club 55+ Senior Games

Senior Games

August 20-24, 2018
Attention Adults Age 55+! Club 55+ will be kicking off our games on August 20, followed by the Annual Golf Tournament on August 21! The games will conclude with an awards ceremony for the participants on August 24. This event is open to residents and nonresidents age 55 and older. Games sponsored in part by Heartland.



Golf Tournament: August 21, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Pheasant Run Golf Club

Team Activities:
Tennis (2 per team)
Golf (4 per team)
Pickleball (2 per team)
Trivia (4-6 per team)

Each team member must register and should list teammates. If you sign up as an individual, you will be placed on a team.

Blood Pressure Screening:
July 16, 1:00 p.m. Book an appointment for this FREE service by calling Club 55+ at 734/394-5485. Blood pressure readings provided by Rite Choice.

Nutritional – Congregate Meals
Lunch is served Monday-Friday, 11:30 a.m.
at the Summit on the Park in the Oak Room.
No charge for ages 60 and older; a suggested donation of $3 is encouraged. There is a $5 fee for ages 60 and younger. Reservations are required by 12 p.m. the day prior; call 394-5485 ext. 1253. Menus available in the Parkview Room.

AARP Car Tek Class
Monday, July 23, 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Learn about high-tech car safety features in this new workshop. Get in the know about the latest vehicle safety technologies, and how to use them. From lane departure warnings and smart headlights to blind-spot detection systems and more. The workshop helps drivers recognize how these technologies might enhance their driving safety and extend their safe driving years. Attendees leave with a vehicle technology checklist, which will offer guidance on desired technologies when shopping for a new car, or what features may already be in their car. This workshop was developed jointly by AARP Driver Safety and The Hartford. Register by July 16. Fee: Free

Let’s Get Creative- Recycle Creations
