"Tell Me, Berenice Abbott"
Exhibition Dates:   August 3 - September 27, 2015

This month the Gallery @ VT will showcase “Tell Me, Berenice Abbott” a Digital Art Photography exhibit featuring the work of Timothy Ruane.
Mr. Ruane taught photography at the Edmund Burke School in Washington D.C. and worked as the chief copy editor in the editorial department of The Washington Post, where he also worked as a freelance photographer.  "I edit (manipulate) my photographs aggressively, changing contrast, brightness and hue without hesitation.  I value pictures that are hard to take more than easier ones—action shots more than stills, for example.  I am drawn to the unconventional and the abstract" says Ruane.

He has exhibited his fine art digital photography in London, Izmir Turkey, New York, Washington D.C. and a number of other U.S. cities.  His work has been published in The Washington Post, New York Review Books, Simon & Schuster as well as The Good Men Project, Whisperings and a number of other journals.
Mr. Ruane has written and directed three independent short narrative movies, a two-minute silent and many experimental films. Currently, he is filming and editing a short narrative film: “Sometimes the Window Is Blue.”

"As the philosopher is interested in truth, I am interested in beauty.  Good art can do many things, but it cannot bore." - Tim Ruane

This art exhibit is at the Gallery@VT and is free and open to the public:

Monday – Friday 10 am – 2 pm, one hour prior to and during public performances at the theater, as well as by appointment.  The Gallery@VT is closed on holidays.
