Butterfly Ball

Annual Butterfly Ball Returns

Back by popular demand, Canton’s Valentine’s tradition returns on February 8 and 9 to the Summit on the Park, offering a unique experience and plenty of special memories! Dads and daughters can enjoy an evening of dancing, refreshments, a special butterfly souvenir, and the popular balloon drop that caps off the festivities.

Since one dance is already sold out, chose from the two remaining dances: February 8 at 6 p.m. or February 9 at 2 p.m.  Semiformal or dressy-casual attire is recommended. Ticket sales end on February 1 and each participant is required to have a ticket for entry. Tickets are available at the Summit on the Park front desk for just $11 for residents and $14 for non-residents. These dances traditionally sell out, so be sure to purchase tickets early. Summit New Year's Membership Special Still Available  

From now to January 31, 2019, enjoy special savings when you purchase a Summit on the Park Annual Membership. There are two ways to receive the New Year's Membership Special.  Save 10% off of Individual, Couples, and Family Annual Memberships, as well as Annual Kids' Corner Memberships (excluding Matinee Memberships) when you purchase your annual membership in full. Or sign up for an Annual Membership with a 12-month commitment with the Payment Plan option and the application fee and the first month's payment will be waived. Canton Farmers Market

Off-Season Markets Coming Soon to the Summit on the Park's Banquet Lobby

The first of three monthly Winter Markets will be held on Sunday, February 24 in the Summit on the Park Banquet lobby, located at 46000 Summit Parkway. Markets are also scheduled for March 24 and April 14 at the Summit; all with special winter market hours from 10 am - 2 pm. Several local vendors will be featured at the Market, including a variety of returning favorites.

Michigan goods available include: baked goods, artisan cheese and bread, frozen and dried pastas, hoop-house grown produce and more. Check here for the latest information, as well as www.facebook.com/cantonfarmersmarket.

Any time is the right time to experience the thrill of a live performance!  This winter, be sure to take advantage of theis family-friendly production that everyone will be talking about for weeks to come.  
 
Canton Celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 
January 21 -  Reception at 6 p.m. and Program at 6:30 p.m. 

The Canton community will once again honor the memory and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. with a special tribute on Monday, January 21, 2019, at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill. The public is invited to attend a punch and cookie reception to begin at 6 p.m., and the main program at 6:30 p.m. 
This special event will feature key note speaker  Martin A. Philbert, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Michigan.  There will also be a special performance by Dodson’s Elementary School choir. Village Theater Call For Artists 

The Gallery@VT would like to invite area artists to apply for a group or solo art exhibition for the 2020 season. The Village Theater is interested in featuring a diverse group of artists of all mediums. Submission will be juried by an exhibition committee comprised of local artists, arts professionals, and art educators. Please be advised that you are ineligible if you have had a Solo Exhibition at the Gallery@VT within the last 5 years. Submissions are due by April 11, 2019. Special Scout Programs Available

Attention all Scout Leaders!  Two unique Scout Events will be held at the Summit on the Park this month that are sure to provide plenty of fun, as well as Fun patches.  Girl Scouts Flip Flops, Fitness and Fun event will be held on Saturday, January 12 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., offering Cardio drumming, Zumba, swimming, games, snacks, and more!  A special Cub/Boy Scout Shark Attack event will be held on Saturday, January 26 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., featuring a “fin”-tastic afternoon full of shark-themed fun, games, snacks and swimming.  Each event’s fee is $15 per person and both events will be held in the Summit Gym and Aquatic Center.  Participants are reminded to bring a swimsuit, towel, and flip flops. Pheasant Run Golf Club

Are you still shopping around for a great venue to host your golf league this Spring? Pheasant Run Golf Club, located at 46500 Summit Parkway, provides three challenging nines to entertain your league members. Golf Leagues at Pheasant Run receive many great benefits such as Pro Shop and food and beverage discounts, as well as pre- and post-league green fee specials and discounted range fees on your scheduled league day. Canton Club 55+ Special Events
Looking for a way to beat cabin fever? Area seniors are encouraged to attend two special events this February, when Club 55+ will host a Hawaiian Luau and Valentine’s Day celebrations at the Summit on the Park, located at 46000 Summit Parkway.  On Wednesday, February 6, shake off those winter blues and come dressed in your brightest Hawaiian gear from 1-2:30 p.m. Enjoy activities, snacks and more in the Maple Room.  Fees are just: $6 for Summit members; $7 for Canton residents, and $9 for non-residents.  Preregistration is required by January 30th.  Celebrate Valentine’s Day on Wednesday, February 13 at 11 a.m. in the Chestnut room.  Enjoy finger foods, desserts, special activities, followed by a romantic comedy movie at 1 p.m.  Fees are $9 for Summit members, $10 for Canton residents, and $13 for non-residents. Boys Spring Lacrosse Leagues Now Forming

Interested in Lacrosse?  No experience necessary.  Limited spots are still available for the 2019 Spring League in grades 3-4 and 7-8.  Registration fee includes: custom uniform, 10-14 league games, two tournaments, and referee fees. Learn how to play the fastest growing sport in the nation that provides great exercise and improved hand/eye coordination.  New and experienced players are welcome. Participants are required to provide their own equipment; however, a limited  supply of equipment is available for rent. Season runs March - May 2019.
