    August 4: Deadline for entries

    August 20: Artists notified by email of juror results

    September 24: Deliver accepted artwork to The Village Theater from 6 pm - 8 pm

    September 25: Deliver accepted artwork to The Village Theater from 9 am - 11 am

    October 12:  Artist Reception from 6:00-8:30 pm.  Village Theater Main stage program will begin at 7:00 pm

    Juror Jeff Cancelosi will select the award-winning entries upon review of the actual works of accepted art prior to the Exhibition. 

22. Eligibility:

    Participation is open to all artists ages 18+ who live or work in Michigan. Original works in all media can be entered provided they have not been shown previously in the Canton Fine Arts Exhibition. All artwork must be original in concept, design, and execution. No mechanical reproductions after original works in other media (such as giclee, prints) accepted, unless used as part of a mixed media work or collage. Fine Art Photography accepted. Works must have been completed within the last 3 years. Hanging artwork must not exceed: 6 feet in height, 5 feet in width, or 40 lbs. in weight. Works must be properly framed, clean, & wired for hanging. Sculpture dimensions must not exceed 5’ x 5’ x 6’ and 200 lbs. in weight. 

24. Entry Fee:

    A non-refundable $20 fee must accompany EACH entry. Each piece of art being submitted is considered one entry. Entries not accompanied by the correct total entry fee will not be considered. To determine your total entry fee(s), simply multiply the number of entries you are submitting by $20. 

25. Payment:

    Once your work has been submitted, Village Theater staff will contact you for payment.  In addition, only fully paid applications will be accepted for consideration for the 29th Annual Canton Fine Arts Exhibition 2023 show. 

27. Presentation Requirements:

    Accepted entries must be ready for presentation. Framed works must be clean and ready for hanging with appropriate glass or Plexiglas & hanging wire (No clips, Sawtooth Bars, etc...). Unprepared works cannot be accepted.

29. Delivery for Final Judging:

    Accepted entries must be HAND DELIVERED to The Village Theater at Cherry Hill, located at 50400 Cherry Hill Road, on September 24, 2023 from 6 pm-8 pm and September 25, 2023 from 10 am-12 pm.

31. Rights and Reproductions:

    The Canton Fine Arts Exhibition reserves the right to photograph & reproduce all accepted entries, regardless of the copyright, for the sole purpose of publicity.

33. Agreement

    Submission of a work to the juror shall constitute an agreement to comply with all conditions set forth in this prospectus. The juror reserves the right to reject any work not accurately represented in submitted image.

    Decisions of the juror are final. All artists will be notified of the juror’s decision. It is the artist’s responsibility to deliver works of art to The Village Theater and for the prompt removal of art from The Village Theater within the specified time period. 

35. List of Submitted Entries/Images: *

    Document artwork:  Please be sure to include the artist’s name, title, medium, dimensions, and year of work’s completion for no more than six images maximum.  

37. Sales:

    A 35% commission will be charged on all sales made during the exhibition. Price accordingly.

39. Liability:

    The Canton Fine Arts Exhibition and The Village Theater at Cherry Hill will exercise all reasonable care with your original artwork. However, its members, volunteers or anyone connected with the exhibition will not be responsible for loss or damage. It is suggested that the artist carry their own insurance.

41. Artist's Statement:

    Artists can provide a statement describing his/her/their art, influences, background, and information regarding technique to be used in conjunction with the exhibition.  The Village Theater at Cherry Hill reserves the right to edit the statement.  Any part of this statement may be reprinted or used in news releases and publications.
