  1. Proposals by Neil Simon

    November 2, 2019, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Biltmore Studio

This beautiful memory play delightfully recalls the last time the Hines family gathered at their retreat in the Poconos. The summer of 1953 brings romantic entanglements that coalesce one idyllic afternoon; Burt Hines, mid-50’s and convalescing from a second heart attack, eagerly anticipates the arrival of his ex-wife he still loves. Daughter Josie has just broken her engagement to a Harvard law student and pines for his buddy Ray, an aspiring writer with whom she once had a brief fling. Clemma, the African American housekeeper at the center of the action casts and astute eye on the complications while facing her own unresolved past. Rated PG.

  2. Imani Winds with Tian Tian, Pianist

    November 2, 2019, 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM @ Main Auditorium

Over a 20-plus year career, Grammy nominated quintet Imani Winds has discovered what audiences value most from their concerts: a sense of connection - with the music, the performers, the composers, the artistry and beyond. Extolled by the Philadelphia Inquirer as “what triumph sounds like”, Imani Winds has created a distinct presence in the classical music world through its dynamic playing, culturally relevant programming, virtuosic collaborations and inspirational outreach programs. A faculty member at the Oakland University School of Music, Theatre and Dance, pianist Tian Tian has presented solo concerts across the US, Canada and China. She has appeared in music festivals such as Piano Texas, the Gilmore Festival, and Summer Courses with Arie Vardi (Germany). Avid chamber musician, Tian has performed with the Juilliard Quartet and toured in the US, China, and Korea as a member of the Studzinsky Trio.
